Whiz Bang!

A few weekends ago was the annual Whiz Bang celebration in Robbinsdale and we celebrated at my grandparents' house as usual. Maddie and her cousins had a blast swimming and playing together. Seriously, having a daughter the same age as my twin sister's daughter is the best thing ever. Maddie talks about June all the time and calls her her best friend. Melt my heart.

Maddie took a nice long nap later than usual, so we were planning on staying all the way through fireworks. Maddie sat down by the lake with her cousins and got all excited for fireworks. I was pretty sure she'd actually want to watch them this time. She kept talking about them banging and sparkling. But the second they started she watched two fireworks and said "All done. Go home now... I'm scared." We attempted to watch a few more and even tried a few more in the house. She was actually scared and clung to me for dear life every time a firework went off. We ended up just packing up and leaving which got us out ahead of the post firework traffic anyway...
