What a busy weekend Easter is in our house! Ben's campus at church had 9 Easter services between 3 days, so he was basically MIA until Sunday afternoon. I loved spending the weekend with just me and my Maddie girl though. Only a few short months left with just one little girl in our house!
We went to Eagle Brook on Saturday morning and then got brunch with some of Ben's family. Sunday was filled with lots of family and lots of sugar highs (and sugar crashes) for Maddie. We had breakfast at the church I grew up at with some of my family and then went to my grandparents. Maddie is obsessed with 'Papa's House'. When we pulled up at church for breakfast instead of Papa's House (where I told her we were going) she wouldn't get out of the car and said 'No! Papa's House!' We had a yummy turkey dinner with my extended family and had a little Easter egg hunt for the little kids. Maddie was a pro at hunting for eggs and gathered as many as her older cousins. It was hilarious to watch.
She spent the rest of the time playing with her cousin, June. June is two months younger and they are finally at the age where they are inseparable. They want to be together at all times and like to get into mischief together. They found an egg before the egg hunt started and stood in the corner sharing the jellybeans inside. They both were too full of candy to eat any real food, so they just ran around playing during the whole dinner.
In the afternoon, Ben's family came over to our house. The weather was seriously amazing! 75 and sunny! You couldn't ask for a better afternoon to sit outside on the deck. Maddie played nonstop with her cousins, Elliot and Liam. They were all exhausted, dirty and full of sugar by the end of the day. (I think we're taking a few weeks off sugar over here!) Such a fun day!
