This summer is extra special because Ben is home with the girls everyday and we can actually hang out on weekends with him home! Who would've thought waking up on a Saturday and not having plans could be so great. We haven't had a Saturday like that in basically 5 years with Ben working weekends, so I am soaking it up.
One of the things on our bucket list every summer is strawberry picking. Nothing tastes better than a freshly picked strawberry. Maddie and Everly both agree! They had a such a great time this year. Maddie loves tasks- you tell her how to do something and she is all for it. Strawberry picking is no exception. On the way there she told us, "Remember, you don't pick the dirty strawberries on the ground. Only the good ones on the stem." How she remembers that from last year, I have no idea. She loved carrying around her little bucket and finding all the good ones. When I told her it was time to go she said, "Your bucket isn't full Mom. Pick more until your bucket is full and then we can go." As we were walking back from the field, I looked in Maddie's bucket and saw that half her strawberries had big bites out of them. Just like her parents, she can't resist the yummy strawberries.
Everly also loved the strawberry field. She would find a big strawberry, take a big bite and then squeeze the rest of it between her little fists. She loved walking back and forth between and rows and following her big sister around.
