We left the 90 degree weather in Minneapolis and drove up north where it was colder and rainy for the first two days. We just missed the huge storm down in the cities which left everyone without power for a few days! Even though it was colder than we expected, we found plenty of fun activities to do! We left right at naptime on Friday and Mads slept for the first 3 hours of the trip! I never expected her to sleep that long, but it was a blessing because she's still not very great in the car for more than an hour at a time.
Ben's parents rented a cute cabin in Tofte where all the babies were able to have their own rooms to take their long vacation naps. It was great being able to put all the kids to bed at night and hang out in the main room together playing an always heated game of Buzzword or Sequence.
Tofte is a short drive from Grand Marais, so we took a day trip into town on Saturday. The kids all loved playing with the rocks on the beach. Maddie started feeding Liam rocks and he actually tried to eat them. Maddie is a little instigator, so I imagine these types of things are bound to happen in Liam's future!
We tried to take pictures with the boys on one chair and Maddie on the other, but Elliot wasn't having that. The picture turned out better once we did some rearranging!

College roomies turned sisters-in-laws with babies!
We had a picnic and then spent some time hiking around and shopping in Grand Marais. Grandpa and Grandma found the kiddos some adorable matching jammies. I just can't get over how cute these three are!
